I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Psalm 91:2

To Parents

I don’t have to tell you that the world in which our students are living is troubled.  It’s a difficult place to be a person, much less to be a follower of Jesus.  We believe they need a place of Refuge.  Students need a place they can go to get filled back up with all the things of God that seems to be drained out of them day after day.  Ultimately, our Refuge is God, as the verse above says, but FBC wants to provide a place where students can go to learn how to take advantage of this Refuge. Our purpose statement reads…

Purpose Statement

The Student Ministry at First Baptist Dexter exists to connect students to God, the Church, and each other.

First, we believe that students need to be connected to God.  He is the beginning and the end of everything.  If we are not connected to God, then this life can easily and quickly overwhelm us.  Second, we believe that students need to be connected to the Church…the whole church.  This starts first and foremost with the family, but also includes the entire community of believers within the church.  Third, they need a place to connect with each other.  They need that positive peer pressure to stay true to their commitment to follow Christ.  In Refuge we are Biblically Based, Christ Centered, Grounded in Grace, Authentic in our Walk, Passionate about Prayer, Committed to Community, and Committed to the Uncommitted.

what we do

Wednesday Nights (5:45-7:30):

Worship service designed specifically with middle school and high schoolers in mind.  Great worship led by a praise band made up of (almost) all students. Teaching of God’s Word in a way they can relate to and understand, and age-graded small groups to help them digest what they’ve heard with their friends.

Sunday Mornings (9:15-10:15):

Sunday School is led by fantastic youth workers who come ready every week to help students understand the ord of God in a new, fresh way!

All kinds of events throughout the year including, but not limited to: High School Retreat; Middle School Retreat; Disciple Now; Camp; Games; Missions…and a bunch more.

If you don’t have a place that you call your Church Home, come join us…we’d LOVE to have you!
